In the City Planning Commission’s recent report on food access in New York City, Central and East Harlem were identified as neighborhoods with “high needs” for grocery stores and supermarkets. This, coupled with rising food prices can create a tough situation for Harlemites looking for healthy food choices.

This weekend I was visiting friends and family in the Jacksonville, FL area. I grew up in Jacksonville. I spent plenty of time in the down town area. Mainly because my God father own businesses in the area. Most of this are was occupied by the poor people of the city.
