In Steven King's classic tale Misery, his unforgettable character Annie Wilkes tells Paul Sheldon, "If you aren't good company for yourself, you aren't good company for anyone else."

Whether you are the boss at a company that specializes in marketing automation, helping people and companies achieve better returns on their investments, or you are an employee that services T1 Internet for companies, there is no difference. The bottom line is that if you don't enjoy going to work every day and working at the company and brand for which you are working, chances are other companies and other people are not going to enjoy partnering with you and your company, either.

In life, when you say you are "having company over" the feeling is that these people are welcome in your home (family or friends) and that you are getting together to share in conversation and perhaps have something to eat. Well, ask yourself, do other corporate companies and corporate people feel the same way about your "company"? If not, you may need to look into changing your level of customer service, the way you market your products, or your overall company vision and mission statement.
