    The State of “Citizen Journ”

With apologies to Orson, two recent news events have folks questioning citizen journalism. CBS had an embarrassing lesson in citizen journalism while Apple got an expensive lesson. This Is New. And It’s Important. The bottom line is that dwindling media resources make citizen journalism a must-have, not a trendy nice to have.

Recently I discovered the best toothbrush ever, the Colgate 360. Think all toothbrushes are alike? Think again. This thing rocks. It’s got the perfect hand shape and the ideal mouth feel, plus??it gets your choppers - and everything else in there - feeling super clean.

When did we start trusting strangers? New research from Universal McCann

Earlier this year, we posted about research from Universal McCann looking at the impact of social media. Thanks to Simon at Curiously Persistent, I came across some new and equally interesting research from the team their. This time they look at the influence we have online, how we respond and react to other people, and how user-generated content informs our decision making.

Hertz #1 By a Mile – Thanks Walter!

    http://humanvoice.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 10/ 01/ hertz-1-by-a-mile-%e2%80%93-thank…

On Friday afternoon I returned to the Hertz LAX location at 12:30 PM with 1 hour until my flight left. If I didn’t make the flight, I would be stuck at LAX for at least 6 hours. To make things worse, I was flying on United - which at LAX is the last of 9 stops that the Hertz bus makes.

    ON: Philips Manalogues

    http://joannapenabickley.typepad.com/ on/ 2008/ 09/ on-philips-mana.html

What do guys want to talk about??? If you don't know you better ask someone! It is entertaining as hell. Better yet, just visit Philips' Bodygroom Manalogues. It started with the "shave everywhere" campaign. Now that guys are talking about shaving everywhere, Philips has taken the consumers stories and created launch pad for them to be shared.

Al Gore Didn't Invent The Internet, But "Internet TV" He Might Have A Claim To

I was watching Current on Comcast cable last night and was struck by the number of consumer generated spots the channel was serving. These ads even have their own acronym, VCAM, which stands for Viewer Created Ad Message. Here is Current's pitch: We've teamed up with the world's biggest brands and they want you to make their commercials to run on Current TV.
