My garden has been good to me, but we have all sorts of green tomatoes. I like fried green tomatoes, but not that muchWe are trying to ripen the tomatoes in brown paper bags. Some of the tomatoes are coming along, but some are taking forever to ripen. I did get to try some of my cucumbers proably about 10 of them.

When you’re living in an apartment that feels no bigger than a shoe box, you really have to make the most of your vertical space…unless you actually like tripping over things on your way to the bathroom.

While everyone else is busy anticipating autumn and then a sleepy winter, I am actually already counting down the days until spring. It’s not that I dislike the winter - the chilly season holds many a great thing, like my birthday, snow (in other hemispheres, but still), tweed coats on sale, hot cocoa with marshmallows, and some really awesome rubber galoshes.

By Cindy Naas A friend has recently become interested in gardening. He’s growing a few herbs in pots on a very small front porch, but has three sets of bow windows on the west side of his home. He asked me to come up with a list of veggies which would be appropriate for growing in window boxes, and that is an interesting question.

It is so nice to make our own garden, flowers, vegetables and herbs. Herbs are ideal to be grown in small containers and near the kitchen for ease of access. We can even put the containers on the window sill for decorative purposes also. We have been planning about nicer garden, and efficient one making maximum use of space.
