contextual backlinks

Tag details

Contextual backlinks are backlinks that are within the content or body of an article on a webpage or blog. Contextual backlinks are considered to be much higher quality backlinks than those that are found on the footer, sidebar, or blogroll of a website. It is preferable to get dofollow backlinks that can pass link juice and authority onto the next website.

When the search engine algorithms are giving importance to backlinks, they give greater weight and importance to those backlinks that are found in the actual article because they can be more natural than those placed on footers and sidebars. Contextual backlinks can be clicked on within an article and followed back to a page in which the subject is the actual anchor text that was clicked on.

You'll find bloggers writing about the importance of contextual backlinks at blogs like Profile Backlinks and Internet Real Estate.
