Cotton is a soft, fluffy fiber that grow in a boll around the seeds of the cotton plant. The American South was famous for growing cotton, which was picked by African slaves and their descendants, in the 18th and 19th centuries. The invention of the cotton gin by Eli Whitney made it easier to convert raw cotton to fabric and paved the way for the Industrial Revolution.


Cotton fabric has made life much more comfortable, and is also responsible for better health and fashionable clothes. Whether you prefer T-shirts or sweat pants and khaki shorts, the fabric used in these clothes is breathable and this more comfortable in different climates. Colors stay brighter and last longer, so your clothes keep a fashionable appearance when the right fabric is used.

A white shirt made from cotton will reflect the heat and sunlight away from you during summer months, so you stay cooler and drier.

It is very easy to find clothing on the internet, but cotton also has other uses. Sheets made with a high thread count are considered the finest quality when this material is used, and most five star hotels insist on this type of bedding. If you want to sleep like celebrities and royalty, then these are the sheets.
