crime
Crime is defined as breaking the law. While punishment may differ from state to state, there could be some variation as exactly what should be punished. For some, an occasional 'white lie' spares feelings. However, white collar crime involves lawbreakers who break the law because they think it would be easy.
Celebrities who commit crimes have the world knowing in seconds. Internet blogs and various media sources are relatively quick to spread the news. Even the subject of crime has made it into other sources of entertainment. It's such a popular topic that television has made several successful programs with it as a theme.
