British actor Daniel Jacob Radcliffe was born on July 23, 1989 in London, England. He is best known for his role as Harry Potter in the popular J.K. Rowling-adapted fantasy films.

Born as an only child, Daniel Radcliffe first expressed an interest in acting when he just just 5 years old. His first role was in the 1999 BBC made-for-television special David Copperfield. Daniel made his big screen debut in the 2001 spy thriller The Tailor Of Panama alongside fellow countryman Pierce Brosnan.

He won the role of a lifetime in 2000 when he was cast as the ubiquitous boy wizard Harry Potter. The films have gone on to gross more than $4.5 billion at the international box office, making it one of the most profitable film franchises in cinematic history.

Radcliffe next appeared in the Broadway hit Equus about a stable boy who has an obsession with horses. The role, which required nudity on stage, received generally positive reviews from critics.

Daniel Radcliffe, along with his Harry Potter costars Rupert Grint and Emma Watson are among the wealthiest young actors in Great Britain.
