Digital cameras represent another shift in technology from storing analog information to storing digital information. Digital cameras are small computers that record images electronically. Besides still pictures, some digital cameras will also record sound and motion picture.

In the Western world, digital cameras are outselling conventional film cameras, giving Nikon justification to announce in early 2006 that they are getting out of the film camera business.

As digital cameras gained popularity, new types have hit the market. You would now be hard pressed to find a cell phone that is not also a camera phone. Digital single-lens reflex cameras (DSLR), digital compact cameras, bridge digital cameras, and specialized cameras like multi-spectral imaging equipment and astrographs are also widely available.

As popularity gains for digital cameras, naturally comes the need for digital camera bundles to help complement the packages available by manufacturers so they can attain a competitive edge. Generally, bundles include extras like printers, rechargeable batteries and perhaps scanners.
