Why it's a good idea to blog on YOUR domain, not so good to go free.

Many prospects, and clients, we interact with, talk about starting their blog on a free blog site, such as Blogger.com etc. That's a bad-bad way to start your blog/ social media journey, we tell them. Show the tool the reverence it deserves - don't treat it casually - we tell them. ...

Backend comparisons: Exchange, Google, or MobileMe

    http://www.tongfamily.com/ 2008/ 09/ backend-comparisons-exchange-google-or-mobi…

Whether you are a small business or a family, everyone needs the same three things: Email ideally from your own vanity domain, whether it is myname@tongfamily.com or myname@igncap.com, while having a @gmail.com or @me.com is nice, we all want our own identity. And we need lots of disk space, at least 2GB per user.

    Unreasonable ccTLD Registry Price Increases!

    http://www.circleid.com/ posts/ unreasonable_cctld_registry_price_increases/

It highly concerns me when domain registries controlling a certain Top-Level Domain (TLD) raise the wholesale prices they charge to registrars (domain retailers) without consultation to domain registrants (domain buyers). When this happens, all the registrars will need to pay more to the registry for every domain which they register or renew for a customer.

    Just when I thought….

    http://www.dotweekly.com/ 2008/ 09/ 05/ just-when-i-thought/

I would be back to my normal domaining, a family member just found my uncle deceased in his house. My uncle was a great guy and only in his early 50’s so I do not know what happened yet. I will be gone for several days to support my mother, grandmother and father and the rest of my family.

Jerry Seinfeld helps Microsoft waste $300 million

    http://www.dmueller.com/ 2008/ 09/ 05/ online-marketing/ jerry-seinfeld-helps-mi…

Today I read about Microsoft’s new TV ad with Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld, which was aired for the first time during yesterday’s National Football League broadcast. I then went online looking for it and, as expected, quickly found it on YouTube: Bloomberg reports that the ad campaign will cost Microsoft a total of $300 million.
