Tag details

Drama is the opposite of comedy. It often conveys a serious tone. Writers want viewers to cry or think about an issue rather than laugh. Television will put dramas in the later hours for those topics geared towards adults instead of children. Award shows recognize the difference and make them into its own category of potential winners.

Movies may get special warning labels due to high drama content. This lets viewers avoid shows they might be uncomfortable seeing.

Books can contain their own drama. A good writer will set up conflict between characters in order to draw readers into the plot.
