You've heard about those brave and daring, sometimes awkward and socially inept individuals who dance to the beat of a different drummer, but you probably have no idea what kind of drums are being used to produce that beat. They could be Drum Workshop, Ludwig, Pearl, Fibes, Yamaha, and so on.

If someone is dancing to the beat of a different drummer, is he going to be following in step with just a snare drum or the whole set, including high hats and cymbals? It's his prerogative, and he should know that the sound coming out of a snare depends upon its shell, so he may want to carefully select from the choices of fiberglass, brass, bronze, copper, and aluminum to mention but a few. He should also know whether his feet are tapping with cheap drum sets or the more raucous ones.

One of the most notable drummers of all time is Hal Blaine, who has played on over 8,000 tracks for hundreds of different musicians. Blaine was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in March 2000.
