election
The term election typically refers to a process where voters choose, though a system of balloting, a candidate to fill a particular office. In the United States, elections are held to elect positions from local village presidents to the President and leader of the Country.
In a country where freedom of speech reigns supreme, web users have the opportunity to share thoughts, write parody, blog about and rally support for their adopted candidate(s). Further, today's candidates have the opportunity to promote themselves. Constituents can research a candidate's life work, create entries on their blogs, donate money and volunteer to help with a campaign. Candidates can create buzz by uploading videos of their campaign trail.
The web has created a system that allows voters to be as informed and active as they choose to be in any election. Elections in the U.S. are a right and privilege of each qualified citizen. Now, no voter has to go into an election booth without a clear understanding of what he or she is voting for.

I found it troubling too, but apparently no one in a position of power raised it as a legal challenge or an issue before Issue 3 was allowed to go on the ballot, this issue could have been dealt with before Ohio voters were asked to vote on it and to be perfectly honest, many of those who opposed Issue 3 rather than ...1 hour ago -

For all the Tory leaders efforts at empathy, he is naive to think he can ever really understand how most people live There is plenty about David Cameron which sets my teeth on edge, but with probably less than six months before he is likely to arrive in Downing Street, I thought it well past time to consider the ...2 hours ago -

Corporations aren’t people. They don’t have the same rights. They represent a single interest – the financial well being of their shareholders. Representing the interests of shareholders isn’t necessarily a bad thing in itself. I do completely understand how capitalism works, but at the same time – corporate ...2 hours ago -

Draft Dick Cheney in 2012!
Common Sense Political Thought —

I’m pretty sure that he’d make a poor candidate, but I think he’d make a great President! I supported Mr Cheney’s short-lived campaign in 1996 — he never even made it to the February 12th Iowa caucuses — because of his good, solid work as Secretary of Defense under the elder President Bush.
