energy healing

Energy healing describes any complementary healing modality that views illness or pain as a disturbance of the body's energy field and seeks to help treat the illness by strengthening the energy field. Energy healing is being clinically studied in the US, where the National Institutes of Health has established a center that is devoted to research in the area of Complementary and Alternative Medicine.

Energy healing modalities include therapeutic touch, healing touch, quantum healing, and reiki. Energy healing is shown to be effective in pain management and stress relief.
