Whether it’s a graduation, engagement party, birthday party, or wedding the event may include music, DJs, bands or some other form of entertainment. Personal referrals are the best way to know if the entertainer is a good fit for your event. But auditions or video reviews of their performances are important as well. Check with the local musician’s unions for information on local performers and contact information. Many unions offer a referral list for no fee.

Meet with the performers or their agent well in advance of the event with a plan for the musical requirements.

There are vendor blog sites rich in content to aid in the selection of music for your event and other advice for event planning the entertainment. Try the Gig Master’s blog for the top wedding songs including the first dance, father-daughter dance and mother son dance songs.
