events
Events are moments in time that serve as a milestone for social, personal or historic memories. Historical events are usually indicative of major shifts in popular or political beliefs or turning points in the economy or wars. Events can also refer to particular single or recurring items such as as a wedding, party, birthday or anniversary.
Events in history chronicle the world as it was at the time, and the changes that have occurred since. The events may mark the change from one Era to another such as the movement from the Bronze Age to the Iron Age.
Event blogs may include current or social events or may focus on the changes in the world since the highlighted events occurred. September 11, 2001 marked a significant world event for the US as the terrorist attacks resonated across the country and around the world. The ScienceBlog is a blog that features science as it relates to the impact of events on our lives. The living in history: how some historical events shape our memory blog discusses the impact of some specific events on the world as we know it.
