Exercise is physical activity undertaken for the purpose of achieving and/or maintaining physical fitness. Exercise is something everyone knows they should do but not many want to do it — like flossing one's teeth. There are so many different types of exercise it can be overwhelming to someone just trying to get into better shape.
Gym memberships offer a different direction for an individual versus at-home exercise DVDs. Home exercise programs offer more privacy but obviously lack the equipment and other alternatives that exercising in a gym can provide. There are an amazing amount of exercise programs offered now including video gaming systems that allow for family fitness. The crucial thing to find when looking into exercise is find one you do enjoy, then do it.
