facebook pages

Facebook pages is an official term for commercial and community oriented pages at the social networking site. They are a lot like groups on the site and are often confused by users who encounter both terms.

Facebook pages aim more at brands, business, artists and larger events while groups cater to personal interests. There are however many similarities between the two and a few noteworthy differences.

Page admins can for instance send notifications to as many friends or fans as they like while group admins have a limit of 5000 members that they can send information to.

Groups on the other hand offer better controls on who gets to join them while pages can only limit access to age groups or locations.

Anyone with a valid Facebook login can create both groups and pages on Facebook.
