The term facial refers to that which is related to the face, such as hair or different skin-related health conditions.


Facial can also refer to a procedure that involves a range of skin treatments aimed at improving the appearance of the facial skin, such as exfoliation, steam bathing, extraction, peeling, cleansing, scrubbing and massage.

A common facial care procedure involves the application of a masks or gel that contains minerals, vitamins, essential oils and natural extracts. Such a mask is usually allowed to sit on the skin for up to a few hours and is eventually removed with lukewarm water. Toning lotions and moisturizing creams are often applied after a mask to complete the facial treatment.
