Mizo people at market in Aizawl, the capital city of the north-eastern Indian state of Mizoram on November 30 where the State Assembly Elections is scheduled to take place on December 2. Voting is scheduled to be held in 40 constituencies in the north-eastern state where some 600,000 people is expected to cast their votes.

There are a variety of roles available, from volunteering at the markets, to working on committees that address community engagement, the website, campus outreach, and vendor relations.

 Quince and pomegranate.  These have been my obsessions lately, things I keep buying on impulse, afraid to wake up the next day and find them out of season.  I'm just as happy to spend a meditative 15 minutes loosening the pomegranate seeds from the shell and eating them by the spoonful: a flood of juice followed by a satisfying crunch all over in a matter of seconds.

We were extremely excited to see news about the Urban Farm Bicycle Tour event appear in our inbox a couple of weeks ago. We asked Leslie Luciano, Community Relations Manager at Bicycle Sport Shop a couple of questions for us about the event, and her answers are below: Perhaps you could just describe Bicycle Sport Shop’s involvement in this project, and how the genesis for the idea came about?

Saturday morning I hit up the Portland Downtown Farmer's Market for the first time in a while with my friend Michelle. I was restocking my empty kitchen and she was preparing for her vegan Thanksgiving Potluck, to which I brought my last post's pecan pie.

Bicycle Sport Shop in conjunction with Edible Austin magazine is producing an Urban Farm Bicyle Tour to kick off Edible Austin Eat Local Week. Cyclists will depart from three starting locations: Downtown Farmer’s Market, Sunset Valley Market, and the BSS South location.  Lead by special guests,

Chef and Food Educator Alice Waters will be giving a talk at the IMA’s Tobias Theater next Tuesday. However, tickets sold out within weeks of posting the event online.
