father

A father is still, in most cultures around the world, the head of the household. A father is also typically more of a disciplinarian than a mother. Some fathers are serious and stern, other fathers are "fat and happy." Some fathers have enough personnel for a football team, other fathers have a single child. Many fathers are followed by their children into a like career path.

A father may be so unobservant that he barely knows where his children are or what they are up to, or a father may have so much testosterone that he tracks their every move and reminds them constantly about the paddle. Fathers are particularly fond of their daughters, so much so that a shotgun may be invested in right around the 'tween years of his little daisy. Fathers are also more apt than mothers to hunt and fish and take their sons camping.

Fathers tend to like to have their egos stroked from time to time. As a man, a father most of the time still doesn't understand the mother of his children. That's why a father has the caveman instinct to go into his cave if he senses a fight. Or he may just spend more time at the gym on his ab exercises.
