Well, Firefox 3 is officially released and they’ve managed to achieve a record breaking 8 million plus downloads on the first day. I’ve loaded up the Portable Apps version of Firefox 3 to give it a test drive and I have to say that by and large it’s got a lot going for it.

I recently needed to use Firefox 2 on a linux system and the only one available to me at hand was my CentOS Linux Server. CentOS deosn't have Firefox 2 in their repos and there are libs/apps that depend on the gecko of Firefox 1.5 So I download the binary from www.firefox.com for Firefox 2.0.0.14

A New York Times article reminded me of my love/hate relationship with Firefox. The article points out that Firefox 3 will be released next month with a bunch of new features. While the new feature list seems impressive on the surface, the truth is that I love Firefox for its extensions more than its features.
