Fox News is an American cable news television channel. It is owned by Fox Entertainment Group, which is a subsidiary of News Corporation. The CEO and founder of News Corporation is a man named Rupert Murdoch.

Murdoch created Fox News and hired Republican strategist Roger Ailes to serve as the company's founding CEO. The channel took to the air for the first time on October 7, 1996 to an audience of 17 million cable subscribers. Since then, Fox News has become known as the cable news network with the largest amount of regular viewers.

Fox News programs are broadcast from Fox News headquarters in New York City in their street-side studio on Sixth Avenue in the west wing/extension of Rockefeller Center. The majority of the Fox News schedule is comprised of live programming, with the addition of pre-recorded segments and programs filling in the remaining time.

There have been allegations regarding Fox News and a conservative bias, although the network vehemently denies any such bias and stands behind the slogan "Fair and Balanced."
