5 September, 2008 — Deborah You know for a long time I have thought that a ‘miracle’ of sorts did indeed happened in South Africa after Mandela was released from prison.  No civil war, no bloodshed, it was almost as though it was just another day (a tense one, yes) but peaceful and full of hope. 

I wasn’t sure what I was in for when I first picked up a copy of Dangerous Men: Beginning the Process of Lust Free Living. The book is published with a real rugged feel to it: the pages look nothing like a text book, but more like the field manual of a man who’s been in heavy combat.

Over the last three days, I have had the complete displeasure of watching and listening to most of the keynote speakers at the Democratic Convention. Last night, I watched the repeat broadcast of Joe Biden's speech. I was struggling to find a catchy line that would describe what was heard in most of the speeches.

Sorry about the delay in writing up notes for this chapter. This book is so full of hot air and balderdash that it is difficult to want to read or review it. Chapter Six is called Breaking Free – maybe sometime soon, I can break free from this book! Reviewing the book also makes me feel ill and exhausted – I am beginning to believe that there’s something dark and sinister behind all of this.

What do you think of when you think of "spiritual bondage?" At one time in my life, I thought of spiritual bondage as all the sins that I was in "bondage" to. I thought of spiritual bondage as all the bad things I needed to overcome in order to maintain my right standing with God.

The Olympic Games in China are about to begin, but I cannot watch any of them.
