Juuri Sapas is a not quite Michelin starred newbie on the Helsinki scene. Popular and recommended by some of my husband’s gourmand cousins, we were eager to try it. Sapas is like tapas, albeit slightly smaller, small plates of food. We’re meeting my husband’s cousins whom he hasn’t seen in about 20 years.

It’s not actually Barbecued chicken. BBQ chicken is a new Korean fried chicken chain that recently opened on St Mark’s Place. What makes their chicken different from most other fried chicken is that they fry it in olive oil which leads to a much lighter, less greasy chicken that is unbelievably delicious.

Yes Dear Reader, I know I promised to write about my overseas travels. This was delayed somewhat with  intermittent internet acces. Tokyo is a city that has a firm place in my heart. I lived there for a couple of years and found myself at times, bewildered, curious, enchanted and exasperated by this fantastically weird city.

Is there any place in the world where people don't love fried potatoes? When our deep frier (a.k.a. the simple wok) went on the stove for the first time in three years yesterday, hubby took the opportunity to throw in some cubed potatoes.

Ingredients: * Oil for deep frying * 900 gm Baby Potatoes * 75 gm Tomato ketchup * 25 gm Coriander leaves * 1½ tsps Turmeric Powder * 1 tsp Mint leaves, chopped * 2 tsps Black Pepper, chopped * Salt according to taste Method: 1. Peel the baby potatoes and boil till half done with half a tsp of turmeric powder and salt.

Yay!?? Another week has come to an end, which means another Saturday Sides recipe!?? This week, I’m focusing on one of my very favorite foods ev-er, potatoes.?? And, although??it’s??difficult to improve on potatoes, these are fried red potatoes with onions.?? Hoo boy.?? You better watch out because these are good.
