I’ve been avoiding pants and sweatshirts for a couple of weeks now, pretending that the cold isn’t eating away the last few bits of summer, but when the front loaders come in and steal your lifeguard chairs, you know the summer season is coming to an end.

It is amazing how fast pocket cloth diapers can start stinking. I used fitteds for months and never had this problem. Coincidentally, when I began cloth diapering my then 15 month old son in 2005, the pocket diapers were the only diapers that reeked of ammonia. Back then I just figured that’s what toddler pee smells like.
