frugal living
Frugal living revolves around being thrifty in spending and living modestly. Living within one’s means rather than taking on excessive debt loads frees up a person from the bondage of amortized principle and interest payments.
Frugal living, as opposed to the get-it-now-pay-later mindset, delays gratification, and sacrifices the many seemingly small and insignificant mounting expenses for a much greater compounded long-term reward.
An advantage of frugal living as it relates to expenditures is having a goal in mind and practicing the discipline to save for a wanted item until it can be paid for in full. This develops a strong, uncompromising character, with an added benefit of having something to look forward to with anticipation and excitement. Also, the experience of buyer's remorse will occur much less frequently with this purchasing method. One further bonus to mention is the satisfaction of personally owning something the title of which is free and clear, a large part of self reliance.
Bloggers note that frugal living is a great step towards financial independence and enjoyable retirement living.
