funding

Funding is essentially when one party (or parties) provides money or funds for a project, business, or person. This funding can be done via fundraising efforts, loans, or even transactional funding.

Let's be honest, fundraisers aren't the most "fun" way to go about securing funding. Some folks perceive them to actually "ding" the fun. Therefore, they may avoid the fundraising route when trying to get funding. Some people try "flipping" assets or real estate, getting a loan from a bank, or they may even go begging and pleading to family members to get the funding they need.
