Here you see two cakes, one round, and one oblong shape. One cake for my monthly Daring Baker challenge, and one for the people who were born in August! My apology out to all you June babies! I know I'm seriously late this month but I have been really busy~____~ Also, we got some unbelievably warm weather for the last couple days here in the Bay Area, so it is hard for me to stay in and write anything!

What a week! Other than that I was helping a friend with fashion styling for a photo shoot for her upcoming online boutique, I was the hostess for a friend’s birthday dinner party and for a fundraising dinner to benefit the victims of the China Earthquake, and I also managed to squeeze in the time to make the 2 cakes for a friend’s engagement party!

I wasn’t singing when I found out that the Daring Bakers’ May challenge is L'Opéra cake! From what I know that L'Opéra is a classic French dessert that is super rich, super chocolaty and extremely elegant and polished.

The weather been quite nice for the last couple days and I hope it will stay this way or at least until my vacation is over. You see, the sun fuels me to do things like to mow the lawn, trim the trees, take Yumi out to the park and of course, make desserts ^^ I told myself that I have to be more on

This month’s Daring Baker's challenge is fun and not as difficult to make! Thanks to Elle and Deborah. With my school’s fashion show around the corner and cakes I have to bake for friends’ birthday, I prayed for an easier challenge. It was such a relief when I found out that we are baking cheesecake (with a twist) coz I am good at baking cheesecake.
