Gadget is a term for a small device or object utilizing technology in a useful, novel way. Gadgets can be described as "cool toys" that make things easier for adults. Online, the term is most often used to refer to new electronics, like cameras, cell phones or computer accessories, though the term can also refer to useful household items, i.e. "kitchen gadgets."

Humorously, the term was used for the name of the title character in the cartoon, Inspector Gadget, a usually-bumbling human detective who had bionic "gadgets" built into his body. These included a helicopter inside his head (hat?), springs inside his feet, and a variety of spare hands inside his chest, holding (sometimes) useful items. Activating the items required the command, "Go-Go-GadgetSprings!" for example.

Blogs that discuss gadgets usually provides news about new products, reviews and overviews, and comparisons to other existing gadgetry.
