Tag details

Ganoderma is a little red mushroom that has been used for almost 4,000 years in Asia and surrounding countries for medicinal purposes. This mushroom is also known as Reishi, or sometimes young zhi or lingzhi, and has many purported health benefits. It grows in dark areas where there is high humidity and very little light, on certain types of decaying wood and stumps.

Ganoderma
has been referred to as the The King of the Herbs and even The Elixir of Eternal Youth because of its supposed health benefits. The word Ganoderma means "shiny skin" in Greek. The mushroom has a very shiny outer covering and usually grows in a hoof pattern. The Reishi mushroom has a double-wall and comes in many different colors. Although it is usually red in color, it can be black, blue, and even yellow. Ganoderma purists believe that each color helps different parts of the body.

Ganoderma
fungus is a white-rot fungus, and is used in many different sorts of health extracts. Ganoderma Tea, Ganoderma Cocoa, and even Ganoderma Coffee (also known as the "healthy coffee") are all widely available in health supplement stores across the world.
