Recession has affected people in all walks of life. Rich or poor we get a feel of what recession really means in the Webster dictionary. If you find it hard to maintain your car then maybe you should buy a scooter and save on gas then lower your gasoline bill.

If you follow my blog you know I'm working to make our home and my family's life greener, more environmentally friendly. I'm much more conscious about turning off lights, running the air conditioning a little less and keeping electronic gadgets with thirsty power supplies turned off.

In last week’s Scooter Sunday comments, Dave2 mentioned how my scooter had been “oddly absent from Scooter Sundays as of late…” And he is right, albeit partially. Scooter Sunday #17 was a recap of my vacation in Park City, with no scooter coverage at all.

One of the current topics of today is gas prices. You can’t turn on the TV or open a newspaper without finding a story about how much gas costs. Consumers everywhere are making changes. I ride my scooter as much as I can to help reduce how much gas I use for my commute.

The recent proliferation of $4 gasoline has brought renewed interest in economical two-wheeled transportation, particularly the latest styles of motor scooters from Japan and China. The Internet and the manufacturing boom in China are playing key roles in this new market, offering a wide variety of machines in the $1000-1700 price bracket.

Scooter popularity has been rising nearly as fast as the price of a gallon of gas lately. With this in mind, some former co-workers of mine have built themselves a scooter they would actually be willing to ride around town.

The popularity of gas scooters is squarely tied to the price of gas. So it’s of little surprise that the popularity of scooters is at an all-time high. I’ve always been impressed by the hardy souls who ride their scooters and motorbikes in peak hour traffic, rain hail or shine. Now I think maybe they are just cheap…. or smarter than the rest of us?     With the price of gas continuing to rise, people in Urban areas are looking at other options for their daily commute.

Welcome to another edition of Scooter Sunday. Efficient Not a day went by that I wasn’t on my scooter. Which means that my car was parked most of the time [except for the days my wife took it to work instead of her truck]. The scooter holds just over a gallon of gas.
