Jerry Reed has died of complications from emphysema at the age of 71. Reed, who was born in Atlanta in 1937, spent two years in the military before moving to Nashville in the early 1960s to pursue a career in the country music industry.

Should I see it? Yes. Maybe the best sports film of all time. Following the rise of a small town basketball team, this film inspires and entertains. Gene Hackman gives a top notch performance as the troubled head coach Norman Dale. An absolute must-see for anyone who loves sports.
