From coupons to cruises, giveaways, or handing out freebies, are a major vehicle used by brainy bloggers to bring substantial traffic to their website — for very little money. It doesn’t matter if the audience is the busy Mom looking for helpful product reviews for her family or an eco-minded organization helping the environment by planting trees, free is free. Acquiring a product for a giveaway can be as easy as agreeing to write a review on that product for the company and placing the review on your blog.

With bloggers gaining credibility as information sources, giveaways also benefit the companies willing to distribute a product for review.  Giveaways help establish their products in the blogosphere — reaching out to many in the marketplace traditional advertising might not reach. These companies know that a well-written and popular blog can be a critical part of profitable product branding.
