Known throughout time for its value and as a symbol of purity, royalty and wealth, gold has a long history of use as a symbol of success, a staple in jewelry and rings, and as a monetary standard. Even in difficult economic times, gold often holds its value better than other investments.


Gold is one of the most malleable of all metals. Since it is so soft it is usually alloyed with a base metal. 24K gold jewelry uses the softness of the metal to create special design accents for designer or investment pieces. Copper is often used to create a rose or reddish gold usually 18K.
