    Matt Amato at Analytical Graphics has created a network link that converts USSTRATCOM data (active and inactive satellites, debris and rocket bodies) into a KMZ network link for observation in Google Earth: In the above view, debris and rocket bodies are turned off; active satellites are in green and inactive in gray.

    Matt Amato at Analytical Graphics (AGI) has posted a KML file that allows users to use Google Earth to visualize the 13,000 space objects that USSTRATCOM tracks. The post was picked up today by SlashDot. There’s an overwhelming amount of objects here that gives a good sense of the amount of sensors and satellites in orbit.

    Rear-projection may be deader than dead as far as the biggies are concerned, but the folks at nLighten are intent to squeeze a bit more life out of these 72-inch 1080p DLP sets by sticking an infrared camera inside next to the light source that detects cursor points from an IR-tipped pen, allowing for a simple (no multitouch) touchscreen interface.
