graphic

A graphic is an image, a drawing, a symbol or artwork of some kind that is displayed on a canvas for visual presentation. The canvas can be paper, a wall, a computer screen, as well as others.

Computers often act as the intermediate canvas for graphic layout on things such as t-shirts, quilts, shells for electronics, posters, etc.

A graphic designer is the creator of graphics and combines one or more elements of illustrations, text and color.

Creating graphics for use exclusively on the Internet is extremely popular today. Although some people will use paper as the intermediate medium when designing for the web, most graphic artists for web design will generate images, logos, banners, etc. using computer software making it readily available for display on web sites.
