greece
Greece is frequently in the international news and therefore the blogosphere for a great many reasons; some good, some bad, some funny.
Modern Greece lays claim to the accomplishments of ancient Greece, the birthplace of western art and culture. This leads to conflicts with some of their neighbors such as Turkey and FYROM (Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia). On Yahoo Answers there is a regular battle waging between Greeks and FYROM people. Historians join in the arguments as well.
Anonymous quote: "Greece is the only country that has lost it's marbles and wants everyone to know about it."
Long a European Union country with a strong economy Greece is still out of step with most others in the integration of their economy, laws, and education system. This contributed to the major riots in Athens in 2008.
The Greek islands are a very popular tourist destination. On the main land you can't dig a hole without uncovering something ancient. Every year a popular movie is filmed here such as Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2
