While there is no universally accepted definition for “green collar jobs” (or the related term "green jobs") this phrase has generally been used to refer to occupations that contribute to positive impacts on the environment.

Green collar jobs can be in areas such as energy efficiency, green building, natural resource management, recycling, and renewable energy. Some definitions of green collar jobs state that such jobs should provide a living wage and opportunity for career advancement.

The green collar jobs sector has seen the creation of specialized education and training programs, job fairs, and other services to meet current and future employment needs. Blogs are offering resources for green collar job seekers as well as highlighting news and developments in this sector.
