green building

Green building, is a term used to describe the practice of building various structures with environmentally safe products and using processes that are environmentally responsible from the very first stages in design, all the way through to full construction.

Green builders pay close attention to the energy efficient heating and cooling systems in green homes because the benefits are two fold. There are obvious savings to the home owner and at the same time there is a reduction in the carbon footprint.

There are many building materials that would be considered 'green' including bamboo, straw, lumber from forests that are certified to be sustainably managed, ecology blocks, dimension stone, recycled stone, and recycled metal.
