So thanks to everyone who helped me out on my bag post; I Need New Reusable Bags & Hate Shopping (sos… help!) I’m checking out everyone’s ideas and hopefully will come to a decision soon. Hopefully! In any case, I was looking around some more and found the bags I’d buy if I was super rich.

Plastic Bag Ban: Malibu Won’t Give it Up Today in the LA Times there was an article regarding a new effort to ban plastic bags coming out of Malibu. LINK. According to the article “An ordinance unanimously adopted by Malibu’s City Council this week will soon make plastic bags a thing of the past among its 13,000 residents and four supermarkets.

China has officially released its new standards for plastic bags. The standards, which will be implemented in June, are an attempt to help eliminate the devastating impact that plastic bags are having on the environment. The new standards prevent supermarkets and other retailers from handing out colorized plastic bags.

I had the pleasure of meeting Heather of KinichiRiver Designs on Etsy the other day. She very kindly did a feature on me in her blog and hosted an article which I wrote on ethical shopping tips. She has presented numerous features on artisans who use recycled materials in their art and crafts - an exploration of the before and after of their creative process.

So, I need new bags, and as mentioned, hate shopping. I really do. I like, actually love, to look at products - clothes, baby stuff, green stuff, etc, but when you get right down to it, I hate to buy stuff. I do however need new bags. I have some reusable grocery bags but they’re seriously old and dieing.

Katherine Heigl was running errands close to her Los Feliz home in Los Angeles today. The actress, who is rumored to be trying to leave “Grey’s Anatomy”, seemed to be in good spirits as she smiled and chatted with a friend.

Joy is pretty environmentally aware and makes an effort to be green. She carries around her own grocery bags when she goes shopping. So I decided it would be cute to make my own canvas tote to lug around Trader Joe’s or Vons. So here is my attempt at going green.

I am stocking grocery bags this Sunday/Monday at The Tree of Life and The Boondocks, both on Hyena Cart. I still have some aprons left. They will be coming down this week, and tucked away for etsy.
