Another Hamsa hand. The hamsa hand (Arabic) or hamesh hand (Hebrew) is an old and still popular apotropaic amulet for magical protection from the envious or evil eye. The words hamsa and hamesh mean “five” and refer to the digits on the hand. An alternative Islamic name for this charm is the Hand of Fatima, in reference to the daughter of Mohammed.

I Just Finished this piece and listed it on my Etsy site. It's 9"x8" I started by making the framework of linoleum as well as a base of wood. And then adding all of the base work, such as the bird and lace and brass tacks. Then I started to add areas of wax, letting them cool and dry...and then scraping the wax down to a smooth and transparent surface.
