Health promotion is the pursuit and intent to positively impact the quality of life of individuals and groups. The term health promotion is dynamically changing and evolving, dependent on the background and experiences of the person using it. For example, HealthyPeople.gov talks about taking specific steps to ensure health & long life for all.
Many define health as the absence of disease. However, health promotion is a movement toward a better quality of life through any number of self determined paths.
