The company practically invented the modern office cubicle in 1968, then known as the “Action Office”, today a regular fixture in millions of offices around the world. Herman Miller’s design clout lasts to this day, with their designers and designs continuing to inspire comment and copycats from all over the world.

As one of the world’s leading makers of office furniture, Herman Miller ranks as one of Fortune Magazine’s 500 most admired companies, and is second only to Steelcase in sales, with over $6 billion worth of Herman Miller office furniture and cubicles in the worldwide workplace.

Despite its size and stature (or perhaps because of it) Herman Miller has strived to be on the forefront of the green movement. Herman Miller’s furniture makes extensive use of recycling and low emissions manufacturing techniques, securing it considerable recognition from the environmental movement.
