Hill Harper is an actor born in Iowa City in 1966. Although he is known for many roles on film and television works such as Married With Children, City of Angels, and The Handler, he is best thought of as a cast member with CSI:NY. This last role is from a television show so popular that fans post pictures and information about Harper on their Internet websites and blogs. Events where the CSI actors appear are well attended by enthusiasts of the shows, because they get to interact with those welcomed freely into homes each week.

Harper plays Dr. Sheldon Hawkes, a former medical examiner who joins the  NYPD forensic team. The scientific training Hawkes has comes in handy in the field where a quick assessment needs to be made so a culprit can quickly be found. While Hawkes doesn't carry a gun, he isn't typically put into situations where he needs one.

The exposure Harper has gotten on the show has led into movie roles and other projects. These are taken note of by entertainment professionals and are often mentioned on mulitimedia blogs.
