Hoboken is a waterfront town in New Jersey, across the Hudson River from New York City. This small city, once listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as having the "Most bars in a square mile" is also home to Maxwell's, a music club that New Yorker Magazine said was the  "Best Club In New York — Even Though It's In New Jersey".

Indeed music plays a big part in Hoboken's history.  Birthplace of the iconic Frank Sinatra, its long list of residents include such diverse artists as James Rado and Gerome Ragni (co-creators of the Broadway musical Hair), Bill Frisell (avante-garde musician/composer), and the punk rock group My Chemical Romance.

Hoboken also has ties to the television and film industries and is home to the Hoboken International Film Festival.  Winner of eight Oscars, On The Waterfront is the widest known movie shot there.  But it also shows up in many others, such as The Professional and The Basketball Diaries.

In 2008's romantic comedy Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist, main character Nick came from Hoboken and the popularity of that book and film brought this town back in the public eye.
