Home Depot was founded in 1978 by Arthur Blank and Bernie Marcus. They, along with Ken Langone and Pat Farrah, wanted to offer a one-stop shop for people who are do-it-yourself types. In 1979, Home Depot opened its first two retail stores, 60,000 square feet each, in Atlanta, Georgia. Since then, Home Depot's growth has continued at a rapid pace.

As of 2008, Home Depot has approximately 2,000 stores, averaging over 100,000 square feet in size, and can be found in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and Guam.

Home Depot is currently headquartered in Vinings, Georgia.

A few weeks ago I broke my shovel by digging out a plant, I was using my triangular shovel as leverage and it snapped in two trying to pull out a dead palm tree. Welcome to the Forum Dave. IMO the bolt-on neck is one of Leo Fenders greatest innovations. The simplicity of the design allowed Fender an entry into a difficult market that until that time had been dominated by skilled individuals rather than complex machinery. It revolutionized the production of electric guitars ...
