homeless
On a park bench located in Northern Colorado in a public park, someone wrote on the bench (in big red letters), "If you were homeless, you’d be home right now!"
That story may sound funny but being homeless is no laughing matter. It is a plight that plagues hundreds of thousands of people worldwide in areas stricken by poverty and war that need humanitarian relief from contributors like you and me.
Forget about the fake "homeless" people and professional panhandlers who make their living on the streets as mere actors trying to get something for nothing. Strip all of those people out of the equation and you still have hundreds of thousands of people who are legitimately without a place to lay their head every single night of the year and would be forever grateful if someone cared and gave them some aid.
Now, these people can go to homeless shelters and soup kitchens for aid, but all of these places are charities that rely on the goodwill (and donations) of people like you and me to stay solvent.
The majority of homeless people are people just like you and me. Just a little down on their luck and could use someone to give them a helping hand. Many brave men and women have served this country only to return with nowhere to go, leaving them homeless.
You can reach out to homeless veterans in your area by joining the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans.
