    What a difference a day makes, Aug. 28, 1965

    http://davelandblog.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 07/ what-difference-day-makes-aug-28-196…

Named for the Dinah Washington chestnut (one of my dad’s favorite tunes), this series shows Disneyland one day after the last series. Same photographer, same copious notes. On this particular day, he just couldn’t enough of Town Square. Can you blame him? We have the Opera House during the day, and also at dusk.

    The Water Horse

    http://myrepublicanblog.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 07/ water-horse.html

If you haven't watched The Water Horse because you thought it was just for kids, you're missing a great treat. This is a movie that has everything... drama, suspense, comedy and love. Besides, there's a kid in all of us that needs to get out every once in awhile.

    Gardening Glitches

    http://heartkeepercommonroom.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 07/ gardening-glitches.html

Many years ago- in fact, 20-22 years ago, I had a wee vegetable garden. It was my first. My husband was helping me weed it one day and we were chatting together as we companionably worked side by side. I had just commented on how beautiful all my little baby carrots looked- like little miniature ferns, so cute, so pretty- and he had just responded to that comment when the phone rang.

    Dark Horse at AX08

    http://www.mangamaniaccafe.com/ ?p=2873

Hunger forced me to miss the Dark Horse panel. Instead of hearing the wisdom of Carl Horn, I went with Robin from No Flying, No Tights and fellow MangaCaster Eva to grab some lunch. Here is a write up from Gia on the Dark Horse panel.

    Off for the Holiday

    http://www.intothebit.com/ horse-racing/ off-for-the-holiday

Off for the Holiday July 4th, 2008 I won’t be celebrating the 4th at the track. Normally I do, but I’m changing it up this year. Last Night’s card went pretty well when Classy Bay won and paid $18.40. I only had one other winner last night, but a good price, even though it was less than I thought it’d be; can make the night profitable.

Horsemeat: It’s still what’s for dinner

    http://socraticgadfly.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 07/ horsemeat-its-still-whats-for-dinn…

In many places besides the U.S., that is. As I and many other bloggers predicted several months back, the closing of the last three U.S. horsemeat slaughterhouses has done nothing to stop American wild horses from being butchered for food. They’re just being butchered in Canada or Mexico.
