The name Hyundai is a Korean word meaning ‘modern times’. Much more than just a motor company, Hyundai is actually a group of companies founded in South Korea by Chung Ju-Jung. Along with the motor company, there are also branches that include, Hyundai Heavy Industries, the world’s largest shipbuilder and Hynix a top semiconductor manufacturer. More recently and following both the 1997 East Asian Financial Crisis, and the death of Chung Ju-Jung in 2001, the Hyundai group underwent many changes and through this many companies are today using the name Hyundai, but are legally unrelated to the original group of companies.

As with most searches for car blog sites, the searcher will bring up a myriad of sites talking about the latest technological advances for the make and/or manufacturer.
